FPU publishes NPI-BU’s national survey on impact of COVID-19 on Journalism in Nepal

Free Press Unlimited (FPU), The Netherlands-based organization which is continuously working for Freedom of Expression (FoE) and Press Freedom, has published the national survey report conducted by Nepal Press Institute along with the support from Bournemouth University. The survey, which was released on 19th August 2020, was carried out to understand how the global COVID-19 pandemic has impacted journalism in Nepal and the Nepali journalists who are working in the frontline in this pandemic situation.

This survey report provides a deeper knowledge on the impact of the pandemic in the context of Nepal. FPU, which works in different parts of the world including Nepal, has published Nepal’s national survey report connecting COVID-19 pandemic and journalism. With this, NPI believes that the survey report will be able to reach more people. The Coronavirus pandemic is spreading rapidly in Nepal with more than 200,000 total cases and more than 1200 reported deaths. In this context, it has been impacting the journalism sector even more now.
